Testimony of nephew reveals new details of uncle's alleged abuse
Uncle had fled the area

DonateNowA 14-year-old boy who claims he was molested by his 66-year-old uncle two years ago revealed some new details when he testified during a trial before a county judge.

The uncle, who has no current address, is charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault. Charges of incest and unlawful contact with a minor were dismissed by the judge at the request of the assistant public defender after the prosecution did not prove the charges prior to resting its case.

The uncle is accused of showing the boy pornographic movies and asking him to perform sex acts while the two were alone.

However the boy, who was 12 at the time, testified that the uncle performed sex acts on him several times three years ago, including one time in the boy's home.

At a preliminary hearing, the boy testified that the incidents always occurred in the living room in the house occupied by his mother's boyfriend that was occasionally shared by his uncle.

"I just remembered that now," the boy said. "I guess I was too embarrassed to talk about it before, like any kid would be."

The boy also gave a different version as to the extent of the sex acts than he had told at the preliminary hearing and to investigators.

The uncle was arrested on a warrant in another state.

Police believe the man, who is originally from the Midwest, fled the area after learning of the pending charges.

He was found after his name was placed in the National Crime Information Computer.

He remains in county jail on $100,000 bond.

The jury is expected to begin deliberations after testimony is completed.
