Child porn photos result in man’s arrest
Police found images in trash, on computer

DonateNowA man left 13 folders in the trash that contained pornographic photos of children after he vacated a rented garage bay, police said.

The discovery of the pictures in a discarded filing cabinet triggered an investigation that resulted in the arrest of a 59-year-old man, investigators said.

The man was charged with two counts of sexual abuse of children-possession of child pornography.

He remained free following arraignment before a district judge.

In addition to the photos left in the trash, the man had 82 pornographic pictures of children on his home computer, a detective sergeant said.

All the photos were of nude and semi-nude girls in sexual poses, the detective sergeant said.

Investigators gave this account:

The man rented a garage bay at an industrial park for business purposes. Police declined to be more specific.

Industrial park employees discovered the photos as they cleaned out the garage bay. They immediately called police.

Police interviewed the man, who claimed the photos belonged to the men he employed.

He said he thought the men had destroyed the pictures.

Two days later, police searched the man's residence and seized his home computer. The computer was turned over to county detectives, who found it contained 82 child pornography pictures.

The man was arrested at his residence last week.
